Anhydrous aluminum trichloride is also known as aluminum trichloride or aluminum chloride. Pure aluminum trichloride appears as white granules or powder, while the industrial product is yellow or light yellow granules and powder not exceeding 10mm in size. It is mainly used as: a catalyst in organic synthesis, petroleum cracking, dyes, rubber, detergents, pharmaceuticals, fragrances, pesticides, organic aluminum compounds, phthalocyanine series organic pigments, ethylbenzene, metal smelting, lubricants, etc. Food-grade aluminum trichloride is used as a leavening agent, a color stabilizer for sake and other products, and a flocculant for pectin. It is also used in analytical reagents, preservatives, mordants, etc.
